The Rosedale Group is a privately-held, family-owned Canadian company. Opening its door with a fleet of one truck and two customers, today Rosedale has grown to 15 terminals with a fleet of 40 straight trucks, 500 tractors and 1300 trailers that are operated and supported by over 800 employees.

Highway Western Star is a full service Western Star and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Dealership Our primary location is on Highway 401 & 97 (exit 268) in the heart of the Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge Festival Country and with a newly opened facility in Guelph, we are uniquely positioned to fulfill all of your Sales, Parts and Service requirements. Our history begins in October of 1991 as Hallman’s Truck Service opened the doors in a small shop on Wanless Court by Dale Hallman. By June 1992, Jeff Cassidy had joined Dale and by that August an additional mechanic and one part-time administration staff member had joined the team.
September of that same year saw us move to our present location at 1021 Industrial Rd – Ayr, Ontario, which was much smaller than it is today. Dale and Jeff both worked on the floor as mechanics in the 6 bays…a space now occupied by our Pit Area and Parts Warehouse. In May of 1994, Hallman’s Truck Service evolved once again, becoming a Western Star branded dealership necessitating a name change to H.T.S. Western Star Inc. Naturally, this prompted the need to expand the business to include a show room, front offices and a larger Parts Department. With rapid and continued growth, H.T.S. Western Star required further expansion, and in January 1998, the existing shop was added, bringing the total number of bays to 12 plus.
More exciting changes were soon to follow! In May 2001, H.T.S. Western Star and the Sterling Truck division of Parkway Ford Sales merged, forming what is now known as Highway Western Star. Bringing both Western Star and Sterling together under one roof also brought in two additional members to the ownership structure, Ken Bast and Mike Stollery. With two excellent teams coming together, Highway Western Star began to forge a new identity, adapting to the ever changing landscape of the trucking industry. Dale Hallman left in 2011 to open a business in Muskoka and Dave Mash became a new partner in August 2013.
We completed building renovations at the Ayr location in late 2014 and in August 2015 a new location opened in Guelph to further service our customers’ Sales, Parts and Service needs throughout the region. As of December 2016, we are proud to announce that our Main Branch in Ayr has become Elite Certified. This is a designation provided to us by Daimler, after having received an audit to determine that we have met all their criteria. We are part of their ‘elite’ group of dealers that are proud to provide our customers with an exceptional experience in a consistent manner and our promise for continuous improvement. As we’ve continued to grow and evolve, so too have our offerings – from our Mitsubishi Fuso truck line up to a complete line of Western Star models, including the latest highway truck the 5700XE, we’ve got your needs covered.
