Advisory Board Bios :

Johanne Couture is from Brockville, Ontario. She has been in the transportation industry for more than 27 years. She is an owner-operator leased to an Ontario based carrier and currently hauls liquid chemicals. She owns a 2011 Volvo 730, pulls a stainless steel tank, runs all lower 48 states and all 10 provinces. Johanne sits on the OOIDA board of directors. She was elected to the board because she believes that “to see things change, you have to get involved”. Johanne offers a unique Canadian perspective to the board. OOIDA represents 158 000 members in Canada and the US. Industry advocacy is an avenue where women can make great strides. As part of the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada’s  Advisory Board, Johanne would like to encourage women in the industry to exercise their full potential, take a chance by making a step forward. A mentoring support system is key to success.

 

Kim Richardson has been in the transportation industry for 33 years. Currently he is the President of KRTS Transportation Specialists Inc. a multiple award winning family owned and operated business. Under the KRTS group of Businesses is Transrep Inc. and The Rear View Mirror. Kim is currently the President  of the Truck Training Association of Ontario (TTSAO), Board of Director of the Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI). He is the past Chairman of the Board and current board member of Allied Trade Division of the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) and past founding director of the Owner Operators Association of Canada (OBAC). Kim is a proud husband, dad, grandpa and loves his community, Caledonia, Ontario.

 

Susan Murphy-Bois  has been in the transportation industry for 20 years. She made a major career change and went from an over 15 year long Government job in Finance & Administration to working as an AZ Long Haul Driver.  She is currently the Certified Director of Safety at Larway Transportation in Barrie, Ontario.  Susan earned her Certification for Driver Trainer and Director of Safety from the North American Transportation Management Institute in partnership with the University of Central Florida. Susan is a Member and Mentor of the North American Transportation Management Institute, and a long standing member of the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association, Fleet Safety Council. Susan is a proud wife, mother, and grandmother who loves spending time with her family and pets.

 

Tyrone Matheson is a serial entrepreneur, small business guru, mentor and connector extraordinaire. Simply put, he’s a neo-generalist with the network, knowledge and expertise to grow businesses. As the Chief Strategy Officer of the Tyrone Matheson Group, Tyrone and his team specialize in helping owners of small private businesses with 5 to 75 employees to develop, communicate and execute on strategic initiatives. In other words, they help organizations grow the profits and value of their business.
